Calcium Reactors

We are in the market for a calcium reactor and are looking for suggestions on what brand ? Another question is if we have a total of 300 gallons in our system , how many gallons should the reactor be rated for ? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks Chuck and Anna Maria

everyone that has a geo seems to love em. Suppose to be more of a set and forget compared to others, and only uses a small pump. As far as the size rating, it depends on how high your calcium demands are. if your heavily stocked with sps id get maybe a size bigger than your water volume. Otherwise just get one close to your display volume.

Hey chuck- it will depend primarily on your calcium needs as previously mentioned. A good rule of thumb is what's initially rated for your tank because water changes will also help add used up calcium in your tank. As your sps grow, you'll notice that they may hit a plateau in growth. Increase your drip rate then. I only have a k2r rated for a 75 gallon but it's working a bit on overdrive, but even with the heavy sps stock, it was able to handle it. The system is roughly 100 gallons.
