Calling it quits!

So, it seems as if I won't be having a reef anymore, or well in a week or two. Just wanted to tell you guys that you guys are the best! I'm not too sure if I would be able to have my tank up this long without your support!

it was fun while it lasted... :(

I'm sorry to here that I hope you are able to get back into it at some time. i've been kicking the idea around myself

i dont know what your situation is, but i almost called it quits three times so far and its only been 2 years..lol..all three were after major die offs of live stock, anyway hopefully you'll be back..good luck..

i thought about getting rid of the big tank to put more money into the jeep and the house.... Then i remembered that huge *** tank was a PITA to get down there in the basement and there's no way i'm carrying that thing out or wasting the money i paid and breaking it in pieces..

what caused the die offs. what could i do to prevent it?

For me it was not quarantening(sp?) a fish, second time was using a bucket that must have had a chemical in it cause fish started dying instantly, third was a power outage. So quaranteen your fish, don't use buckets if you don't know what was in them even if they look clean LOL . The power outage . You can get a backup powersupply. Dell sells them for your computer.(. I don't use it but a friend does with freshwater tank)
