Cant seem to balance water level in pair of sumps

Where you connect the 2 sumps together with the 3/4 tubing, theres a few options you can do to keep the siphon going.
Drill a hole in the top of the 3/4 and glue in an air valve like the valve used for air line tubing.
1: Attach a $10 aqua lifter to the hose and the other end back into the sump. No more worries.
2: Just leave an air line attached to the valve and open valve to suck out extra air in the lines.

I should have just bought a 55 gal and made a new sump but its too late now (I had the other 2 already and thought running dual refugiums would give me the opportunity to own a mandarin down the line)....only way to swap it out is to rip down the whole tank and start over and that is not really an option.

A theory that is being explored when running 2 refugiums is to run them on alternating 6 hour cycles. The theory goes that this will give you the best bang for your buck as it were. When I'm off work tonight I'll see if I can find the article talking about it.

Well I am a bit slow....mother in law is in for a 2 week visit so things are hectic at my house.

Here is how i set it up.....very simple and very easy to purge the air out of the lines.

All I do to get the air out is tilt one side near the bottom (90 elbow on it) up to the intake on the return pump and have it suck out the tube till there is no air in the lines and then the sides re level on their own....I purge it every day or two.

Has worked like a charm....have had no flux issues since installing....the drop lines are held in with a slightly oversized hole drilled piece of acrylic so there is a bit of flex to move the tubes to purge the air.
I used clear flex tubing so I could see the air in the lines....makes it easier to know when to purge it
