chaeto...... dying

i dont know why.. but my mass of chaeto keeps getting smaller and smaller... and my corals are doing fine.. tried differemt bulbs.. more/less flow.... i dont get it... ideas???

It could be a good thing. The reason most people use cheato, et al, is to export excess/unwanted nutirients. It could be that your system is relatively nutrient free.

i dont know... i had a bit of cyano and got rid of it and have been doing a lot of water changes lately because i didnt have r/o in there. now my r/o system is up and running... time to add more rubble rock i guess...lol

Just kidding...don't know how you have it setup but generally the cheato that I have loves a good flow.
Light can be just about anything just need it in the 6500K area.
I only dose a bit of iodine..use lugals I would say it generally helps. Keep dosage low.

Iron supplementation helps but only do half of what is recommended.

I agree its a good thing you just have low nutrients
