Fantastic job in the first two isolating your subject from the background while maintaining focus through your entire subject. Great job!

The last one I'm not sure about. I don't know if I'm seeing out of focus or motion blur on that one. Were your powerheads off? Do you know where your focus point was on that? Can you take another one? ;D

Thanks Steve . Phyl I did have my powerheads on but think the blur was from me,it is low down in the tank and i was not all that steady taking the shot . It is a pic of a chalice so flow probably has nothing to do with the blur .

NICE!! What kind of camera do you use for your pics? I have a kodak digital (a cheap one) and it does not take very good pics. I have a really hard time getting it to focus. My cellphone camera takes better pics. Do you use a tripod to stabilize or just rest on something? I've been trying to get good pics to upload my avatar.

Hi Thanks, I use a nikon D80 no tripod. Most of the good pics are just by dumb luck, I really have no idea how to properly use it yet. Im still learning and besides helpfull tips from other reefers practice seems to be the best teacher .

Do you use a macro setting for the pics? I've been reading other posts and it seems like that is a popular setting. Also, how far away from the tank do you take the pics? Are you right up on the glass or a few feet away? Thanks for the info.

I do use the macro setting but not a macro lens . After a tip from Phyl I am now taking the photos from a further back position . That made a big difference . I had been taking them as close as possible but this was not letting the lens/camera focus correctly .
