Curious who here has kept one with long term success. What was the feeding regimen like, etc.

Mine was doing very well for awhile, now it no longer extends polyps and has shriveled up. It's hard as a rock. My carnation did the same, but then one day, it opened right back up and actually grew some. I do have a few non photosynthetics in tank so it's a careful balance of feeding vs. underfeeding/overfeeding.

A bit OT, but I think that these would be great candidates to try in a Zeo based tank (a larger one), as you can feed to your heart's content with the zeo media and whatever else you wanted to feed and not have to worry about nutrient build-up.

I just glued mine upside down under the big shelf and it's the first time i have seen the polyps out since i got it (while the lights are on).. still doing great though. It is in the shade with the current going over it as well..

I'll take a picture when i find my camera

Mine was doing that all the time and then I moved it to a shaded area and it got upset at me. But now my carnation looks great. These non photos are such a pain. I can't tell if they are doing ok or about to die. I'm getting cyano coming back in from all the feedings. Thinking mixed reef is just too hard. Might move all these guys to a seperate system.

i don't feed the chili he gets what ever floats by.. i think my cyano is from the water softener not having salt in it for a couple days or so.. I wasn't paying attention apparently :/
