clams and anemone safe together?

is clam safe with anemone? any experience coz i just bought 2 clams but my long tentacle anemone move around every night. i have bta too.

If your anemone moves then I would be careful. I have 2 clams in with my RBTA but he stays put so I consider it safe. I've seen the RBTA touch the clam and the clam flexed but that's it. He didn't melt, recede, or die.

I'd imagine if the clams were of sand-dwelling species, and the anemone were of the LR dwelling -(or vice versa) the chances of accidental stinging would be reduced.

personally i wouldn't keep the two together-but that's just my preference...like some ppl prefer bare bottom vs. sand kinda thing.

In my opinion, if an anemone were to park itself next to a clam, then the clam could never extend it's mantel fully and thereby possibly die from lack of nutrition...plus the fact that the whole idea behind a clam is to look at the beautiful patterns on the mantel.

not a big deal since most of us view our tanks like hawks and would do something before that happened...just another thing to add to our list of items to watch for tho.
