Hey Guys,
I'm going to Fire Island for a batchelor party and I was going to see about collecting some things while I am there. Since the drive is 3+ hours I'm not really considering any livestock, but I figured I could take a few gallon ziplock bags of mud, but I have some question.
1. Is it illegal to gather the mud similar to gathering sand from the beach?
2. I'm guessing that the mud is a mud type substance or is it like a dirty sand?
3. It should be fine in a sealed ziplock bag for a few hours w/o anything?
4. I'm guessing that the top(er) layers are were all the good stuff lives .. or am I better off digging a little first?
If I end up collecting a ziplock bag or two I'm going to have more than I will need and if anyone is interested I can meet up with them locally.
Any other gotchas?
