I am not referring to equipment or utilities in case of an emergency. I am referring to actual corals you own.
This club is to help each other and not just when there is a problem with their tank, coral, fish or etc.
When I first joined this club many people with high end coral, rare coral or coral they were attached to would frag it and give it to one or two people for safe keeping.
The goal was if the inevitable happened, which does unfortunately, the person could get a frag back at no extra cost them. Yeah, its only a frag and maybe you lost a large colony but they won't be out the cost of purchasing again, especially if its an expensive coral.
I ask because I traded someone and they gave me a 2 head bounce shroom which now has about 8 heads. They lost their bounce shroom and I told them we can just frag mine and get part of his coral back at no cost. I am all for helping when I can as many here were very kind and generous when I joined back in 2005.
How many people in this club practice this nowadays? I am just curious.
It was a very poplar thing to do many years ago and maybe we should all consider this approach to help or felloe hobbyists.
