Cyano break out

I had a 55 gallon reef up and running for over three years. I transferred everything over to a 75 about two months ago. Same rock, water, coral, etc. I did not add any additional rock. I did however add new sand(55 was barebottom).

Immediately after the transfer, I got some GHA in a few spots. I did not actively go after the algae. I just sat back and watched it eventually fade away on it's own. I assumed there was some die off from the transfer and when everything settled back in it did not have the nutrients it needed to survive. It took a few weeks to a month for it to disappear.

Now, for the past two weeks I've been getting a lot of cyano on my sandbed. The cyano does not touch the rocks, it is isolated to the sandbed.

Is the cyano out-competing the GHA? Is my SB going through a cycle?
