deficiency?

My arrow crab recently molted and now every one of it's legs are now twisted and deformed. Is this a sign of some deficiency in my water?

Not sure if it would cause deformities, but I have read that a lack of iodine can have a negative impact on molting.

I'll try to find some references today.
