Different phyto's

is there a better product in phyto that is out there? ive used brightwells phyto green and gold,dt's phyto, and last night picked up marine snow...they all seem to be the same other than ms seeming a little meatier....or are all these worthless?

What we have used in the past for our filter feeders is Phyto Feast by reef nutrition.

Phyto is good for filter feeders in your tank or if you are trying to breed fish. Depending on what you keep in your tank I think you will be fine to just pick one and go from there. If you have a lot of non-photosynthetic corals or filter feeding worms then you might want to use a few, if not just go with one.

LOL - Dennis T of DT's would go ballistic if he saw you compare his product like that with the others. But i am 100% with you. Short of raising your own phyto - i'm not so sure any of the products offer much of an advantage from one over the other. For disclosure - I use reed mariculture's rotifier diet -its a concentrated phyto that's great for raising rotifiers for my clownfish fry.

im sure he would! the first phyto i started using was from him. i called him directly and we spoke for at least 45 min on different phytos and conspiracy stuff.he's a pretty cool guy and i learned alot from him. at that time i was able to get it directly from him but i guess things changed. i guess unless its DT, its all the same. im gonna give the marine snow a shot and see if my tank shows a + or -...i think the only non photo i have is the carnation coral. i almost bought a cocoa worm last night at new world but wanted to read up on them first. i use oyster feast from reef nutrition and think that stuff is incredilble. ill have to try some of the other flavors under the name. i think i talked ocean aquarium into ordering some so it wont be such a drive to get supplies. if i could get them to carry some DT, that would add to the sweetness...its almost time for a road trip north though...soon as that tax check gets here the mrs and i will head up to the nice shops of jersey

I heard reef roids are awsome but I have no experience with it.
ill have to read up on it, thanks....from what ive seen so far after reading lots of bottles is really the only difference (other than DT's ;D) is the size and meatiness. i did a light direct feed to some corals today with marine snow and they seemed to like it. now i just gotta get my coral beauty out of the tank and ill be a happy guy

I tried feeding phyto but always seemed to get bad alge growth using it so I stay away. I use other products now, Elso Pro Skimmer and KZ Coral Vitalizer, I have seen great results with these products.

i've never tried any supplement products other than phyto...i add alk and do water changes, maybe its time i start some kind of sup program...ive alway been afraid to add anything i cant test for...guess ill start learning about some vitamins and stuff
