I read on another site of folks who dose sugar into their dt and have successfully lowered their nitrates to zero without any harm to fish and inverts. The logic behind this is the sugar feeds the anaerobic bacteria who in turn remove the nitrates. You cant overdose or will make your tank cloudy. Has anyone in this club tried this? If this is true, it would be especially nice for those with fowlr dt in order to keep trate levels under control.
