dying coral

Hey I have noticed in my tank that I have several frogspone corals that look great one day then the next a head will start to dye off. I checked all my levels and everything is good except nitrates around 20-40, this has happened on 2 different coral and suggestions why

What are your other parameters, specifically Alk, Ca & Mg?

alk and calcium are with it noraml limits but i do not test for mag i do add it though 2 a week

If you dose something, you need to test for it.

Please give specifics on your parameters and a little history on the tank. How long established, filtration, lighting, flow, etc.

Sounds like brown jelly to me.

And your nitrates are very high for a reef tank.
