Effect of feeding on ORP

I fed my fish yesterday twice as much as normal (which isn't really a lot as I am stingy) and I logging in today and saw that my orp had dropped about 15 down from the stable 310 to 295. After 12 hours it still is only at 300. This is the first time I have seen it drop that much from feeding. I am assuming that once it returns to 310, my system has effectively removed most of the waste. Is this a safe assumption?
