Emerald Crab behavior

I just put a few Emerald Crabs in my tank to help with bubble algea. They are on the bottom of the tank with the belly of their shells open and are picking at the "contents" as if there were eating something. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Wait the emerald is eating stuff off the belly of the snail? I've seen mine eat algae off the shell of the snail but never the belly... i would keep an eye out.

Nick, the crabs were picking at something under their own belly plate. I'm not sure but my guess is they are female's and I believe they carry their eggs under the plate. Hopefully they are just doing some house cleaning.
