emergency!!!!!!

My ceiling in my family room sprung a leak and it's right by my tank, my wife and I are in a panic, I put a hole so the water can drain into a bucket but the sheet rock already started to buckle in a couple of spots and I got water stains popping up in a few places, it's even coming threw the ceiling fan. I have no place to put all the corals, rock, fish if it gets closer to the tank. I looked up threw the hole I made and the joists and plywood are soaked and dripping, I have some plastic to put over the tank in case it starts dripping over it. I need to know if water from the leak or pieces of sheet rock get in the tank will it hurt anything??? depending on how bad the damage is when this storms over I may have to get rid of the tank

Sorry to hear about the leak (sounds like more than a leak).

I'm sure if things get bad enough some of us could store your livestock until you get things fixed and back to normal.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Where are you located?

I would try to cut out a larger hole in the sheetrock. It will have to be replaced anyway and then put buckets up to catch the leak. You will have to find out where the leak is coming from and fix it. Then allow the joists and plywood to dry out before you resheetrock. My son just had this happen. Part of his kitchen ceiling (1st floor) caved in. He went up to the attic and found a condensation hose that the air conditioning men put in to a drainage pipe had come out of the pipe and was leaking down. Of course, as he was walking around the attic to see if he could see anything else, he stepped through the ceiling of the second floor bedroom. So be careful.

I did all I can do, I had a couple of people give me some suggestions on RC I haven't removed any livestock yet, I sure the tank will have to come down for the repairs. :'(
