Fishing with dad and daughter

I decided to take my dad fishing for his 75th birthday today and since my daughter loved it when I took her last month and Tuesdays kids are free and she was off from school today she came along as well. Today is the last day of fluke season and not much was biting. I did catch a fluke small enough to fit in my 125 comfortably at least for a few months and a skate while dad caught a fluke a 3 sea bass. Of course they were nice sized bass but it’s not the season yet so they went back in. The weather was perfect this morning with small swells and a 10-15mph breeze that was just strong enough to drift the boat while the lines were in the water. Then mom met us for lunch at a diner in Manasquan. All and all a great day on the ocean.

this is awesome to see. i cant wait until my son is old enough to take fishing. He was just on his very first boat ride when we were in Turks and Caicos last month. he loved it!

Kids love boats! Her first boat ride was the ferry to Ellis Island last year on the ferry and it was awesome to see the excitement on her face the entire time on the boat. She definitely wants to go again next year and I told my wife a boat may be in our future in the next few years lol.

Doug used to take our son fishing when he was growing up. Now Andy has his own boat and takes Doug out fishing. Just had the fluke last night for dinner that they caught yesterday. Nothing like fresh fish. <3

BTW, a boat is just a hole in the ocean that you pour money into. Kind of like our tanks. ;)
