I had picked up a freckled Hawkfish a few months ago thinking he only hunted invertebrates which I have none of. Really neat fish and nothing said anything about how they hunt fish. I have lost about 5 fish but they were decent size. I didn’t want to blame the Hawkfish until tonight. I put a smaller gladiator clown in my tank and within 5 minutes I sat back and watched the Hawkfish attack him. I was lucky enough to get the clownfish onto my 40 and then I covered the Hawkfish. I now have confirmation he was the serial killer in my tank and is now banished into my sump until I figure out where he ends up. I will likely try to trade him do somthing else since he is a really neat looking fish.
