Free BTA's

Hi guys, I purchased a, orange with purple bubble tip anemone with a pair of clowns about 6 months ago. Not knowing much about BTA's and how they decide where they want to be in your tank didn't put guards on my wave makers. So, the morning after getting them in the tank I noticed my BTA had been sucked through one of my wave makers and torn into about 4 different pieces. Fast forward a week and now those four pieces are now four separate anemones. At this point I now have 7 and only want one. If anyone wants one or more you're welcome to them. Only catch is you have to come get them out of the live rock in my tank, I can't figure out how to gently move them

People have said to put a piece of PVC pipe over it and the gem will climb in it. Then remove the PVC with nem.

I tried that but other aquarium inhabitants were not having it and always knocked them down before the bta would move. They like to plant their foot into as deep as hole in the rock that they can find so prying them off wasn't an option either. I have had luck with using reef frag clay. What I do is shade out the bta with a piece of clay. So the anemone wanting the light gets their foot out of the hole to get out of the shade. At that point their foot is usually attached to the bottom of the clay shade and is easy to break off and move. It works but costs a good bit of reef clay each time.

I had luck using ice cubes but its a long process. Hang rock over bucket with ice on nem.

If you use your fingers to gently massage the foot it’s going to start to move so you just keep getting under massaging, it would take about three to five minutes

Well, one of them stung my wife's favorite corals and she just went to town on them without telling me. She was really pissed about her coral being stung. She said she went at them with a metal pick. She got them out but they came out in pieces. These things survive ANYTHING. Now I have about 12. Each one that she ripped apart turned into at least 2 or 3 more. Some were just one single tentacle with a small part of the center disc and somehow formed a new BTA
