Hairy Mushroom contraction and expansion

Guys, anyone familiar with hairy shrooms and how they expand, contract, then expand again?

Is this normal?

I have then at the bottom of my 90 Gal with 2-150 Hqi and 2-130 dual actinics.

Please let me know that you think.

My hairy shrooms contract when anything edible gets on them, or when a crab or snail bothers them. they look like they are curling up from the edges to the center. once the irritant goes away or they've moved the food to their mouth they always open back up. of course, none of this is fast... I've seen them open with only the moonlights on too, so it only "kind of" seems to be in response to the light. I wouldn't be too worried.

I thought that my lights were too strong! Maybe I stare at the tank too much!

My lights are much brighter for the size of tank, so i'm sure that's not it. i always thought staring helped....
