Help Me Choose a Media For My Reactor!

Im planning on buying a sapphire aquatics nano media reactor for my nanocube. The reason I choose this reactor over others like the good ole phosban reactor is because it can stay submerged in chamber one of my cube.

I got the reactor figured out, but Im still unsure what media to run?? I want media that can keep nitrates, ammonia, nitrites in check, and keep my water clear. Im not sure if carbon alone can do this for me. I was thinking purigen? but seems costly and I dont trust that bleaching cleaning...what do you guys run? any insight would be helpful...

The reactor looks good. Im not sure what to recomend on media. I use phosban and carbon in 2 seperate units. some guys like chemipure. Is there something you are trying to correct in your tank?

ammonia/nitrites should be kept in check by your LR.

Nitrates are taken out by dilution/water changes.

Carbon is ideal for keeping the water "clear".

My 2cents would be to use GAC (carbon).

Sorry havent been in awhile, thanks for the input guys. There was traces of nitrates, but Ive done a couple water changes and it is greatly reduced. i was just curiious if there were any medias that did keep all those parameters under control, but I guess not. My goal for this media is to make my water crystal clear...

I do have a slight problem tho, I still have a film on my water surface despite surface agitation, surface skimmer, and a skimmer. I decided to try out purigen because it had pretty good reviews, it seemed the closest to a overall purpose media, and it is reusable. I will update, my shipment for my reactor and media should be here monday. What do ya'll think?

Hmmm sounds like the surface skimmer is not working. If you have the big sponge in there still I would consider doing a simple DIY with a floss or something that you can just throw out. I remember when I started I had the sponge in and too high(double trouble) the water didn't flow through the teeth and get "filtered".

At the moment I just have a media bag of chemipure and a heater in compartment one.

The skimmer appears to be working, the nasty film is just settling on top of chamber one, could it be leaking back into display?

Right now im hydor water deflector from the main pump is my only source of surface agitation, I was thinking of highering my vortech near the surface? Right now I have it in the mid level...

Lets see if I can find it.
Yep
This is what I have in the back of my nano(QT).
I put floss in the first chamber so I tank it out ever few days. Helped clean up the surface.
I had cheato behind with a light bar worked pretty well.
