HELP! Sally Lightfoot Crab a.k.a. One-Armed Bandit

I've had this Sally Lightfoot crab for about 8 months now -never had any problems with him... He's continued to grow and so far molted about 5 times.

Over the weekend I noticed for the first time that he's now a one-armed bandit! ???

While he's still lively and always in search of grubs... I'm worried that it'll hinder him in long run..

Do their claws/arm grow back?? Or is he forever going to stay this way? :-\

Thanks was just a little worried about him!
Thought it would hinder his eating habit!!
I think I'll call him STUMPY from Now On!!! LOL!

I'd actually be more worried about your live stock in the long run than the crab.

These guys get downright antagonistic at times when they get older. They also are great jumpers/swimmers and love to grab fish this way to kill and eat.

Keep an eye on it.

You should pay close attention to Jonathan's words of caution. SLF's aren't sold as part of "clean-up" crews as often as they used to be, because of what they become. They end up being a "clean-out" crew all by themselves. It sounds like yours is getting up there in size.

I once saw the big sucker in Trop's tank almost catch an Anthias and a Goby before.

Things are dangerous in a tank. Definitely not fish safe in the least unless you have humongous fish. They can definitely catch and kill fish as large as them (about 4 inches or so).
