Nice pictures and beautiful corals, Tom. ;D Please put me on the "want" list for the Superman once he grows big enough that you could frag a tiny piece for me, ok?

Sure Wendy and thanks. I don't know what I'm doing wrong taking pic's, I can't get a clear pic for the life of me, every pic seems blurry. its really frustrating

Nice corals Tom!!!

Are you using a digital camera? I find I can't use the screen on the back of my digital to take pictures. I have to use the eye piece or the camera shakes just enough to blurr the picture. Putting the camera up to my face helps to steady it so I can get clear shots.

Thanks, I use the eye piece and even used a tripod and still can't seem to take a clear pic. The more I play with the settings the worse they get.

I flipped back and looked at your last set of pics and then looked at these again. One thing I noticed is that they all looked very pixelated. I can see all the little blocks that make up the picture. Maybe try a higer resolution and see how that works. Also, make sure the camera is pointing straight through the glass at your subject, not on an angle to the glass. (Thank you Phyl for explaining that one to me :) )

I got that same advise about straight on shooting from phyl too, I do it that way, how do I change the resolution on the camera??? I think I have it set to fine which I believe is the best???

Tom, when you're resizing them in your output software you've got the Quality set too low. You need to up that to closer to 80 (looks like it is around 50 right now). It is probably coming out of the camera OK.

Hi Phyl, I don't know what you mean? I don't see anything in the software that has a adjustment, 50 - 80? When I download the pic from the camera into the software it looks just like what I post, could it still be the software, or the picture taker(me)?

You didn't resize the image to post it here? If you resized it what software did you use?

Then you don't have your camera set properly. Can you post an image that hasn't been manipulated *at all*?

Tom, You may have it set to fine, but the "small" setting. Try switching it to the Largest Photo Size. (L) I think. I'm not @ home so I don't have the camera with me.

That's what it's set to a quarter circle next to a L. there is another setting looks like stairs next to a L, I didn't try that one

the circle thing is the Fine setting. That's what I have my camera set to.

I guess it's me than... well I learned my lesson, getting expensive camera's doesn't mean you'll take better pic's :( I should have told Faith to get me corals insted ::)

I don't know what else to try, it takes good pic in auto mode but there is no way to shut the flash off when using it in those modes.

Dont get frustrated, I was the same way when I first got the camera. You really need to read a little more to understand everything. (not that I understand everything myself!)

I think the last setting on the dial is a mode for no flash. Try that one out.
