I have the same tank, same light (the 32 version) but a simplicity skimmer which I dislike. Does not skim consistently and have had trouble with the motor, has a whining sound and vibrates when I try and close the air intake. Which octo skimmer model do you have and do you like it. I’ve been looking at the 150 version with the DC pump because I would like it to be as quiet as possible.

It looks like this is the one I have an it’s not too loud at all (basically only hear the bubbles being made that is all)

Is the the one with the white Varios pump? If so, that’s the one I’ve had my eye on. Trying to see if anyone has it used for sale.
