I'm in love

..with my new fish. Stopped by Aquatic Obsessions today. Very happy I did.
I apologize in advance, but I am going to bury you in pics of him...

Beautiful Fish...the Yellowtail Coris Wrasse is one of my all-time favorites. Just some info...this guy will grow to a solid 8+ inches with a nice thick body which means he is capable of knocking over both Corals and LR pretty easily. So give him lots of swimming space. Also, he will eat most snails and shrimp as well as some crabs.

I had one a long time ago in a large fish-only tank and he lived for years and was a pleasure to watch.

Enjoy

Dom

Thanks guys & gals! Hoping to get some better shots of him later today. If I can make it to the next meeting, I'll definitely be looking to pick up any pointer I can!!

Kathy you have a great eye. I wouldn't have looked twice at that fish but in the photos it looks great. The lighting in an LFS isn't as good as your home tank so it looks different. Great find.

Kathy,

I was wondering how your gorgeous Coris is doing. Has he done any damage to anything, or eaten any snails/hermits/etc?

Definitely a snail flipper/eater. I had lost track of the fact that my eel tank inhabitants had decimated my snail collection... until I saw the hair algae taking hold of the rocks. The timing of the Reeftopia buy couldn't have been any better because boy did we need to replace them. My rock is on the way to being clean again. Now I just have to get on a better schedule of replacing them.
