Inverts keep dying. HELP!

Howdy,

I'm exhausted and I can't figure this debacle out. I keep losing snails, no matter what I do. I've tried multiple stores / sources. They're healthy for a week and then just lay dormant until they're dead. I just got a sea hare and it happened to him too. The only thing alive are hermits and my urchins.

I've added maybe 50 snails in last 2 months all dead!!

I tested for copper with an expired kit tonight and will get a non expired one soon but I'm at a loss.

I'm battling bad GHA and I can't win that either. I'm actually considering nuking tank and starting over.

Not sure about snails, but for hair algae Vibrant was my go to and it worked like magic. I know they had the issue about lying about what it was but it did work. I know I lost 2 seahares when I was fighting hair algae. Vibrant was my last ditch effort since nothing else worked and it did!

If you have GHA then the cause is probably impacting your snails. You can try peroxide dosing for GHA, its a short term solution. Also, I went to Carbon dosing using Vodka and that has helped tremendously.

How did you go about carbon dosing ? I've been debating it for a while now

Do you manually dose or hook up to a brs dosed or something ?

And this helps mitigate algae and high nutrients ?
Right now I dose manually but will be setting up a doser. Yes, it reduces nutrients which in turn should reduce algae. Many articles about it on-line.

@Hallowhead I am seeing what looks like dinos (brown slime, moving in non-perfect straight lines as they stick to each other). Many species of dinos are toxic, and would be responsible for snail deaths.
