Jenkinson's Aquarium

I went to Jenkinson's Aquarium today, specifically to check out the bubble tip anemone tank (with goby, pistol shrimp and clownfish). Cora, one of the aquarists, showed me some of the details of the tank such as the lighting (Orbit marine) as well as showing me the coral downstairs in the basement that had been in the reef tank upstairs. I found out that that reef tank had been closed due to a leak the tank developed. It was a great day to visit as there were few people crowded around the tanks. Cora also showed me some clownfish eggs next to a nice carpet anemone. They had the parrots out of their enclosure and above where the reef tank had been. The parrots enjoyed it loudly, but it seems like the workers were enjoying it as much themselves. Jenkinson's had reworked one of the rectangular aquariums downstairs as well, which had been closed the last time I was there.
The next behind the scenes tour is November 3, 2018. See the link below if you are interested. This aquarium brings in fresh ocean water for their water changes and keep/treat it in big tanks below. I didn't bring a camera this time so no photos this time. I am told the sloth is downstairs at this time, so you might see it then.
