life expectancy of a chiller

I would think there would be many factors that would come into play in answering this. For example: Brand, hours on it, cleanlyness(you have to keep the filter and coils clean). I have one that is very rarely used. I would assume mine would last longer than someone who lives in a hot house and theirs runs all the time. I also keep mine very clean so I would also assume that it would last longer than one who's owner never cleans it.
 
ok that make sense. i was considering a used one but there is no way to honestly tell that info. so i guess new is the only way too go.????

yeap. Unless you are able to find a dealer who will warranty a refurb'd one...other than that it's buyer beware as usual. But that applies to anything - like a vortech, tunze pump, etc.
