The other day I bought the Odyssea lights, 2x96watt PC, and the 250 watt Hqi combo. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best combo of bulbs...I'm going to be doing sps, lps, and some softies..Please Help!!

Lighting can be very personal and is as much opinion as it is science. Take a look at other people's tanks and see what you like, then ask them what bulbs they use. This will give you a good idea. Keep in mind, that the higher the rating (i.e. 20k bulbs), the more blue they will appear, and (generally speaking) the lower PAR they'll have. This is why many people get 10k bulbs and supplement with PC or T5 actinics.

While you have to decide for yourself what you think looks best, the science part is well documented. I've seen Sanjay speak and he's "the man" when it comes to lighting. Here's his article:

Read this, look at a few tanks, and take your time. You can always change your bulbs if you don't like them, but you'd be better off getting something you like and saving the extra cash for that amazing monti, or those beautiful acans... you get the picture.
