How long and when should turn on my actnic lighting as well as MH's and lunar lighting. Im sort of new to this type of lighting and I am a bit confused as to when and ho long to keep these lights on. I have a 60" outer orbit on my 120g reef tank.

I use my actinics to simulate dawn dusk cycles each day. I have mine set like this:

11am actinics on
12pm MH on
9pm MH off
11pm Actinics off

Hope this helps.

We have MH for about 8hrs a day. We also do an hour of actinics on both ends of the day.

07:45PM AT on
08:00PM MH off
10:00PM AT off

I dont see the benefit of running the Actinics while the MH are running. BTW I'm running 14k MH which are said to have enough blue in them without additional Actinics.
