i got my baby clown on friday night and he is swimming around like crazy. he looks very healthy.
here is what worries me...i think he is a little "simple". he always swims in the middle of the tank, until i feed him. the he darts to the side of the tank and swims up and down along the side of the tank. he only does this when i feed him though, all other times, he is hanging out in the middle of the tank. he eats very little too. the only time he will eat is if the food "happens" to pass by his face.
i am feeding him frozen blood worm, which in my old tank, my occ. clowns loved them. he doesnt seem to care for them. i cut the blood worms into very tiny pieces since he is about 1" big (maybe a little less). i make sure i defrost the worms in tank water before i feed it to him, so they arent frozen when he eats them.
any ideas on what i can do...also, since he hasnt really eaten more then a few bites per feeding, when should i try switching food for him. another thing i am worried is if he was grown up being fed brine shrimp. i have read that brine shrimp is like cotton candy to them, they love them, but they have no nutritional value. i read in the book clownfishes by joyce wilkerson that if they are primarily fed brine shrimp as their primary meal that they will only eat that...and since it isnt healthy for them, they wont live long
any ideas. i was thinking of trying something else on wednesday, but i am worried that is too long to wait
