Live Rock - lbs per gallon

I'm setting up my 120g reef tank. I was planning to use 1.25 lbs of LR per gallon which comes to 150 lbs. Except for a few pieces that have some nice zoos and GSPs on them, I really don't want to put in any more LR. I have about 115 lbs in the display tank now and I like the way it looks. My question is can I keep the 115 lbs in the display and put the rest in my sump?

Thanks

you can stick with what you have in your display tank and put the rest in your sump or you could also stick with just what's in your display tank. the less LR you have the more mechanical and/or chemical filtration you need. if you have a good protein skimmer then you can get away with less rock.

I may put the remainder of the rock in the fuge section of my sump. The skimmer is a DIY venturi skimmer. Since it's DIY, I'll have to see how well it works.
