longfin fairy wrasse ok for my tank?

Im trying to decide which fish to add to my 30 gal. I got a percula pair and a helfrichs firefish. Would there be any trouble with any of them?

No it would not be. They are one of, if not the most aggressive of the wrasses. Look at a makos keeps or carpenters flasher. The wetmoralla wrasses would also be appropriate though they are very different from flashers.

gotcha. the guide on nano reef said they are fine for the tank size, but i needed to know about compatibility. why are so many pretty fish so aggressive? lol
ill look into carpenter wrasses a bit - i like their look.

Looks like my Ipad pulled a bit of an auto correct on me, meant to type mckoskers on there. Looking back, it is the whip fin fairy wrasse that is super aggressive, but I still think the long fin would be too much for your tank and for your very peaceful inhabitants. The flashers tend to be more peaceful. If you want to dream, look up the bells flasher wrasse (p. bellae).

gotcha. yeah i was a bit surprised as my preliminary googling didnt find mentions of it being super aggressive - but my firefish is very gentle, so i dont want her getting bullied.

honestly i dont like the bells as much as the carpenters. which i like better than the mckoskers too, i like how it has more of the extended rays.
ive read in a few places that this guy does best with a harem? any reason for that other than just maintaining max coloration? if its just for color, i think his own reflection should be plenty - i had a sixline that would go beserk in the afternoon against his own reflection.
