Low pH??

Hey guys, I got a 16 gallon Nano Reef tank and my pH is low. I do 15% water changes every week using RO water and red sea coral pro salt. Here are my specs and levels:

16 Gallon Bowfront Aquarium
17 lbs of live rock
Aquaclear filter converted into refugium
Aquaclear 30 powerhead (going right to left in the tank)
Nano Koralia (going left to right in the tank)
T5 High Output Current USA Nova Exteme Pro Lights

Last water change was done on 11/03 Monday

Ammonia = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 0
Carb. Hardness = 12
Calcium = 500
Phos = 0
Salinity = 1.024
Temp = 79.4
pH = 7.8 - 7.9

WHATS IN THE TANK:
Aussie duncans (open and healthy)
Octopus frogspawn coral (healthy)
Green star polyps
Kenya Tree
5 blue legged hermit crabs
3 turbo snails

SHOULD I BE WORRIED ABOUT THE LOW pH BECAUSE I PLAN ON ADDING A FISH IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO?

IF I DO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE PH WHAT CAN I DO TO RAISE MY PH WITHOUT AFFECTING THE OTHER WATER PARAMETERS?

sorry missed that. ::)

Have you ever measured the PH of the water before you add it to the tank?

fyi - salinity is measured in ppm - what you have posted is specific gravity.

pssst - on the net - it is impolite to write in all caps - unless you are really really mad at me for not realizing carbonate hardness = alk. ;)

edit - btw - per RHF - pH of 7.8 is acceptable. See here

no worries. ;D ;D ;D

But back to your original question - I personally think it should be fine. I forgot an old trick to try out.

Take a cup of water - measure the PH - then vigorously stir it/(even better add an airstone).

Then test it again.

if the pH goes up - your tank has too much CO2...

just a thought.
