Making RR 30 gal

OK Gonna be drilling a new 30 gallon tank...
Which is better a center overflow or a corner overflow???
Or does it even matter on this size tank???
Also on the returns I was planning on drilling 2...
One on the top and another one on the opposite side of the tank on the bottom or mid tank....
With a SCWD (Squid) in between the two returns.....
Any info or suggestions would be helpful....
Thanks in advance,
TR

Hmmmm.....
I like that style!!!! Thanks for the link!!!!
And if I make it out of black acrylic that would be better so no algae growth....
Also that'll cover my surface skimming right!?!?

Yeah! I really like that style!
I will most likely do that style full tank width with black acrylic!!!
And the features that I like is I can install multiple bulkheads and that it can surface skim full tank width and You won't even notice it and it does take much room either!!!
Thanks for the info!!!

I noticed you said you were drilling two returns. The one at the top will be fine, but you need to remember in the event of a power outage the tank will drain into your sump from your returns. So I wouldnt drill your returns in the middle or on the bottom.

Look into doing a closed loop if you want to drill your tank that low.

Steve

On all my return lines (Even my present tanks) I put one way check valves directly after the return pumps!!!
I would hate to have a flood!!! I know exactly what you mean though, Steve!! Every precaution needs to be taken!!!
Otherwise my Other- Half would never let me live it down!!!! LOL!!!!
