Metal Halide fixture

Hey I have 150 gallon tnak with lps and spscorals right now I am running coral life fixture with 3 150 hlaide and 4 96 watt compacts. I feel there are areas yjay do not get enogh light. I was going to upgrade to 250 watt fixture does any one know of any good ones. I was looking at this one does any one have it Coralife Aqualight Elite Series 3x250 Watt Metal Halides & 2X96W Compact Fluorescents, 72 inch

how are your corals doing? if they are doing good then why change. if anything i would change the pc's out to a better bulb if they are the stock bulbs. UVL makes some nice pc bulbs

For the most part the corals are doing fine except for the plate coral at the bottom of the tank. I changed from 10 k to 14 k and they seem to hate the new bulbs.

I just changed them 3 months ago but I went from 10 to 14 tand I have seen a change in soem of the coral like growth a and extention

Keep in mind if you don't have a chiller already your gonna need one with 3-250watt halide's over a 150. And that much light might be overkill. I had a 125 and kept what ever I wanted under 2 - 150's How deep and long is the tank?

you could go back to the 10's or try 12's. if you have room on top put a small 2 bulb t5 fixture. I have a 150 its 6 ft 18x27 if you count top to bottom more like 25" deep. and I think I have the same fixture. 3-150's 4 pc 90's all 4 are actinic 03 so plenty of blue and the 14's are pretty blue right? the 150's are 10's and I think its plenty of light.

Hey its a coral life fixture but I really do not have any more room on top the whole fixture takes up to much room with the legs

I have a 72" current outer orbit 3-150w halides and 8 39w t-5's over my 125 and its overkill.

Am probably going to go back to all t-5's as soon as I can afford it.
