MH ballast capacitor leaking oil. original10 uf will 7.5 uf work with it?

Hello, my capacitor is leaking oil does anyone know if I was to swap capacitors with one that has 7.5 uf, 370vac work with my MH ballast? the original has 10uf 400vac. I know the difference is the capacitance, but is there a difference in the 7.5 and 10 uf cap especially in this application since the capacitor is used to start the lamp?

Wow. I wish I had the answer. Who's make ballast is it? Maybe they could answer the Q for you (unless it is PFO -- if it is, I may be able to find out through a friend who used to work there).

I would order the correct size. The 400 volt capacitor can withstand a surge of 30 volts higher. The 10uf vs 7.5uf is the measure of capacitance. I don't think it will work, but I am not an expert by any means so take my advice with a grain of salt.
