Mod for skimmer help

Can someone direct me where I can find good info on a mod for my Model 12 pump for my Beckett skimmer. It works great when I wrap it with the filter foam that came with the pump but it keeps falling off even if I wire tie it. Is there a better more permanent way to construct this thing. mine only lasts 1 day or so. thanks for any help, Bobb
