Monti Cap help

My caps seem to lose it's color in my tank. My bright orange turned a pale pink. Dark Purple to a faded purple. Dark green with a purple rim to Light green light blue rim color.

pH 8.2, Alk 8, Cal 430, Temp 81, Salinity 1025 Phos and nitrates in check. I have a T5X sitting right on the tank Lighting period is
10 1\2 hrs. Actinics full lenght, all lights 6 1\2 hrs.

They are placed about 14 inches from the light. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Phil

yeah could possibly be to much light- i sit my t-5 a few inches off the tank and my monti caps are about 2 feet under the lights and they held there colors.

not saying this is the same issue - but my caps were dull until I started measuring Mag and dosing. Just a thought.

Sounds like there isn't enough fish poop in your system. Try feeding your fish more (and skimming more agressively to make up for it). Corals will bleach with not enough poop.

So while I thought it was my hard work it was just my piggy tangs that make things right?

My lights are 5x39w. I skim pretty wet, and I have 6 small fish in a 65gal. eg: clowns, firefish. I cut back on feeding because I have a little hair algae issue. Don't have a clue where the nutriants are comming from.
