More skim at night - why

I increased the air flow during the day and then heard water over flowing from the collection cup tonight. I throttled it down so now its just foaming. Why does the skimmer to have increased performance at night compared to the day time with no adjustments?

LOL, I was going to post this same observation. I may be incorrect and not know how to explain it, but I do believe it is something to do with the photoperiod and corals not having light to process CO2? LOL something like that, In my case, I was wondering where my cyano disappears to like the water column and getting skimmed out?

I'm sure somebody will explain it correctly soon!

I would think that there is probably more o2 in the air at night when everyone is sleeping. When we are gone for a day of two, my skimmate is about double the norm and thicker.
