Mushroom or riccordia placement

I am thinking about getting some mushrooms or riccordia. I have a 28g nanocube HQI 150MH. It is my first tank and I am still not confident in my coral placement skills :-[. I am having trouble deciding where I want my corals and things to go. I thinking about putting them closer to the top. They would not be in the direct path of the MP10, but right to the side of it, I don't think they would get killed by flow. I wanted to know what you guys think about placing them there? In the picture I linked it would be the flat rock on the upper left. On the center rock sticking up there is Blue Xenia at the very front is a small pulsing xenia. I am hopin got add things along the top and sides as I go. Unfortunately the way I did my rockwork I fon't ahve a lot of ledges on the sides and low. On a side note, would mushrooms or ricordia grow up or down if you glued them to a flat rock wall? Any information or opinions is much apprciated.

In general I would be inclined to put the mushrooms and ricordia down low towards the bottom. They don't have a great light requirement and will wander up or down depending on space available.

Cool, thanks. I do see most lower in the tank. Can Riccordia go on the sandbed if it is on a plug or small frag rock? Wlll is grow and spead?

I think it would be better on rubble than the sand itself, but I personally haven't tried it.

I have a few rics with 2 mouths on frag plugs, they will grow, but I think theyll really spread if they can move to other rubble. Ive had some in a shot glass with rubble in it to get them to attach, but it takes a while.

Another method that works great is putting a piece of wedding veil over the ric and the rubble and rubber banding them together. Let me know when you want to come over to pick up the mushrooms.
