I started in this hobby around two years ago. My
first tank was a 45 gallon set-up with all the basics.
I had that tank set up for about a year and fell in
love with the hobby. After much consideration, I
decided to go for a 125. The tank is now set up
as a mix reef. Originally I was going to do an sps

tank and a softies tank but I had some trouble
with levels and such, which lead to a crash of my
tank. I lost all of my sps and have had trouble
keeping anything like that in the tank. I came to
the conclusion that my tank was not mature
enough to house just sps so I added back my softies
from the 120. 120g as a reef(now is fowlr)

Recently I purchased a 32 Gallon
Finnex set-up that I converted into a decorative
refugium.

This is plumbed into the 125. I
will slowly phase out the softies for sps over time
but am very pleased with the way things are looking
right now. Here are some of the components
and inhabitants that I have in my 125:

do you live in the capital region still? went to school up there.

anyways - your fish list doesn't have any firefish - but the pic above looks like you have 4. How long have you had them and did you add them all at the same time?

yes still live in the cd went to school in Brunswick ,,,,,i have five fire fish and i added them all at the same time they school and live in the same dart hole they have been in the tank for about 5 months must of forgot to put them in the list i wanted a schooling fish and have tried chromis and anthias but they just didn't school for me they dont cruse the tank but they are never more than a foot apart

Very nice tank like sounds like you have done a great job. I like the second tank a lot. Thanks for sharing the pics.

gorgeous pics - thanks for sharing. I know the weather up in the cd area can get very cold - are you using a lot of heaters in the tank or is the house just naturally warm?

Also - in the FTS I can only see a pair of firefish -the others are hiding (i hope?). Reason I ask is that I'd love to setup my tank with several as well.
