He has already opened up and is really nice. However, I've heard nothing but horror stories about them simply not making it. Are there any success stories with their flowerpot corals??? I hope so, I really like this guy.

I have had lots of long term success with gonipora anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

They are filter feeders i feel they shouldnt be kept in pristine water conditions. i have noticed they do better in higher nutrient systems.

Ive placed mine about 1/2 way up the rocks under 700w's of MH & T5. Is he OK there or lower? As far as pristine water...I am a nightmare. He should be fine then.

I think lighting wise you should be good.

They are usually found in tidal reef zones, where the water is dirty.
