The new streams do look nice - what with the smaller "footprint" - plus the fact that the will come with a magnet is a definite plus. Maybe if I didn't just drop 5 large on stupid carpenter ants - I'd consider it. ::)

I agree, the new Tunze streams do look nice. My thought though would be that if you are not in a rush to replace your existing Vortex, wait and see how these work out for others. Remember, there are often initial problems with a lot of products. You want to make sure that there are none before you buy.

BTW, I do have a pair of older Tunze streams on their multicontroller, and I think they are great. I don't know of anything better at making more or less random flow patterns in the tank, but they are out of sight expensive.
