This medication is used for the treatment of Cryptocaryon and ichthyophthirius. More commonly known as ich or "white spot" disease. The Ich Treatment is highly effective against most forms of the protozoan. 80% of the time after the first 24 hours the ich is visibly gone. It is important to keep treating for the entire week to help ensure any future out breaks. There are many forms of ich and the medicine reacts differently with each variety of the parasite. Two varieties are extremely hard to get rid of and in some cases this medicine will not work. We are seeing around an 85% success rate from customer feedback. There are two potential reasons to why the medicine is not helping an infected fish. The fish may have been infected too long prior to its first dose of medicine. At this point it is much more difficult to fight off ich. There are two strains of ich that are hard to fight. The current solution does help to minimize a tank out break, but there are chances that one or two fish may have trouble making it. As always the medicine is reef safe and invert safe so you will not need to quarantine anything. Usage: 1 drop per 25 gallons for 7 days

Pete when someone in this club uses it and tells me first hand that it is infact ReefSafe then I would surely give it a try. Until then...

Ok Mike
I'm the first to tell you,I've used it in my reef with NO affect to corals or inverts.
This stuff is awsome,I had an anthius get ick in my reef, used it for 7 days and all has been well since.
Just need to remove any mechanical filtration like carbon, phos and turn off the skimmer while using.

Just be careful when dosing this,it's a tiny bottle with a SUPER tiny tip so if you squeeze too hard your going to way overdose the system. When I bought mine I almost freaked out a little brown bottle for $50.00.

I have several bottles that i got as samples (i think it cost me the shipping) if you want to one of those you're welcome to have it.

I will admit that I have never tried this product, so the claims they make may be true.

However, the skeptic in me sees a lot of red flags, making me thing the product is "very questionable".

1) This is a very expensive product.

2) They claim it is "Reef Safe". In my opinion, there is no medication that works against parasites and is also reef safe.

3) They claim you do not need to QT fish and you can treat in the show tank. In my opinion, with a very few rare exceptions, no medication should ever be used in a reef system.

4) Very little information is given about the product itself, and there are many testimonials. This is typical of many "questionable products" in many areas outside of reef systems.

5) Payment is by PayPal only. Another red flag.

If I had a free sample I might try it in a QT tank, but would not use it on a reef system. I wouldn't spend the amount of money they want for the medication, unless they could prove it works.

I usually like Steven Pro, but the study linked to strikes me as completely bogus.

First, he only tested Xenia. I would consider this a questionable choice, because it sometimes fails for reasons that are not clear.

Second, and more importantly, see the final paragraph, and I quote "Additionally, please remember that even though the rest of these treatments were not lethal or apparently harmful to Xenia, I have performed no experiments on their effectiveness on their target diseases, nor do I make any recommendations for their use. ..."

He's doing a test on the medication being "reef safe" and not first making the determination if the product actually kills the disease or parasite in question?

I could make a medication that is "reef safe" but is not effective by just bottling water.

In my opinion, this is not one of Steven Pro's better pieces.
