Noisy Skimmer

Anyone have suggestions for noise reduction on the Aqua C Remora protein Skimmer? My skimmer has been running for about 3 months and it’s still pretty noisy.

You can try removing the collection cup and placing a piece of polyfilter over the elbow where the spray nozzle is.

I used part of a cottage cheese lid and some airline to do this. Worked like a champ.

you might want to try to angle the skimmer, sometimes the noice is from the vibration

i have the same skimmer, and the noise he is talking about is def the air injector...noisy as hell! mines in my sump so the noise is muffled by the stand..lol

that cottage cheese cap trick is worth a try though! sounds like the perfect fix

I placed a folded paper towel about the injector and I was abkle to reduce the noise by 70-80%. Thanks.

sell it and purchase an octopus HOB skimmer. 100 x better IME.

I've used the Bak-Pak protien skimmer in the past which is similar to the octopus HOB skimmer and I think the Remora is a much better product.

a cpr bakpak is nothing like an octopus skimmer. you are mis-informed. bad advice as well.
