Nutramar Ova

Anyone know of a central NJ store that carries this? I checked at trop when getting water but no luck. Trying to convert a mandarin over to frozen.. Have tons and tons of pods and a brine shrimp factory going, but want to ensure his survival with supplemental food. It kills me to pay $30 shipping on $8 food. If I wasn't stocked up on frozen already it wouldn't hurt as bad with a big order.

I'll give it a shot. I don't have him yet. He's still at the pet store in qt. Been preparing for this little guy for months and 3-4 have come in a died during qt. I have lots of liquid foods, but hear that this is the most successful. I also have a ton of live blackworms in the fridge I can use. Thanks for the tip though. I will try that out as well.

If you have live black worms then you will be fine. Just be patient as mandarins are slow hunters and other fish may hog them up before they get to eat them.

Also, PaulB designed a bottom feeder contraption to feed live brine through a tube and into a small netted container that works great for his mandarin. Search this forum for "feeding station" and you should find it.

Yes, I saw that thread and will be building one myself :)

I pick him up tomorrow, and he will be first spending time in a shower caddy to observe him / make sure he is eating. It's the same style my fuge is made out of. I was going to just use a specimen container, but I these are pretty open and would allow for more flow. I'm way to obsessive over this little fish, but I want to do my best to make sure he will be fine. I'll post some pics to my thread once he's home. very excited for my new addition. I've been prepping for months. Also built 10 "pod condos" for my fuge tank to easily propegate and transfer pods to the display. The fuge tank looks like a snow storm at night with tigger pods, and copepods crawling all over the glass.
