A big thank you to Kathy for opening her home to us. It was a great time seeing all the usual faces, and eating all the great food. (some of us ate more than others!  ::) ) (Kathy can cook about 100 burger and dogs in like... 20 minutes.. AMAZING  )

It was a busy day with the Maxi Jet Mod workshop (Thanks John and Renee for all the help with that!) and handing out all the items from our Premium Aquatics Group Buy.

Flash Bulbs were popping all over the place today... There should be some pretty interesting pictures to follow (MERV!    )

I'll post more up tomorrow after work.

Thank you EVERYONE for coming all the way up here. I wish I'd gotten a chance to meet a few more people and speak to everyone. I'm glad that everyone had a great time.

Those pictures are fantastic -- I'm going to have to rotate them through as my desktop.

My skimmer is officially dead -- the pump doesn't even hum a little bit, so I'm getting a bigger/better model.

Merv - Thanks for the corals - Hopefully I won't kill them off !

Someone else handed me a bag with a coral in it as they came in the house..... please let me know who you are as my old age has muddled my memory.......Thank you!!!

I put all of the corals in the tank and the stupid butterfly started in on two of them. So, they're officially in the sump. I think I'm going to put them in my husband's tank, so I'm shopping around for a new light fixture for him as well.

And, lastly, many, many, many thanks to John for putting together my MJ mods. The one in there already is making such a huge difference. Now, I just need to get my lights working and I'm set!

Kathy, did you use the magnet mounts? How did you attach them?

Thanks again for letting us invade your home. Food was great, as was the company. It was a super long day, but worth it.

Phyl,

Anytime you folks want to come invade you're invited.

I used the magnet mount and some Weldon, then I slipped the magnet on it. It seems to hold fine. The airplane hum does bother me, but I don't think the magnet has anything to do with it unless it's putting more of a pull on the inside magnet?

I used super glued mine to a magfloat that needed to be replaced anyway. It is humming but I don't think it is any louder than my fans on my light. The flow is amazing. Thanks again John.

I cannot get the second one of mine to work. It starts up and after a few seconds comes apart and the miniscule washer floats away through the stream. After finding the washer twice, I have taken a break from it and put it aside.

Try putting a piece (or two) of rubber matting, like the stuff used to get jar lids off, between the inside magnet and glass. Or maybe the little bumpers used for cabinet doors. Can't be too thick or the magnet might not hold the weight of the maximod. Maybe that will help with the humming.
