Old salt mix

I have a 3 year old bucket of Reef Crystals. Its slightly damp and clumpy. I can break it up. Does the salt degrade/ lose potency over time? Would be great if I could use it and save $60. Not at the risk of introducing a problem though.

The “vitamins” are most likely shot, but otherwise I’d use it, as long as it’s not a brick.

Better yet, mix up half old salt with half new salt. This way the animals in your tank will get some vitamins….for what they are worth.
